RUGBY LEAGUE'S WALK AGAINST CANCER 2008

A Big Thank You to our Sponsors this year in Bardon, Engage Mutual, Wm Quinn Group and Kooga to Steve & Julie Bostock along with Nestle, Lisa Jewitt & Sainsburys, Martina & Asda and to 2 special Chairman who will remain nameless..

Big Raps to all the clubs who looked after all the walkers so well, Especially and in no particular order Widnes, Wakefield, Batley, Halifax, Warrington, Featherstone.

Here is a brief statement of thanks from Steve

On behalf of the Stephen Prescott Foundation I would like to thank everyone for their help and terrific support during this year’s walk. Without it, the event could not have taken place. Indeed, we have had phenomenal support from all the Super League and National League clubs we visited, who provided much-needed sustenance and hospitality for the walkers. It was also pleasing to see youngsters involved during the fortnight, especially those Year 7 pupils from Thornhill Secondary School (Dewsbury), the boys (and girls) of Batley Boys club, the teams from West Hull and last but not least, the youngsters from Thatto Heath Crusaders & Clock Face, who defied the terrible weather conditions on the walk from St.Helens to Widnes.

The rugby league community from Hull to St.Helens (and on to Old Trafford!) once again showed that they are prepared to rally round and help good causes and we cannot thank you enough.

To all of the Walkers who gave up their precious time to raise money and awareness for the two causes, you were immense in very ardourous conditions, i cannot thank you enough for the support you have given the foundation. At times it was very tough not only physically but mentally too but i hope you look back on our achievements and you will feel so rightfully proud of taking part in the walk against Cancer. You are all fantastic people.
