700 Corporate Guests witnessed a unique event in Rugby League History and not one of the crowd went away disappointed.

All the Bouts were refereed by Boxing Great the Celtic Warrior Steve Collins.

First in the ring were

Steve "The Hurricane" Hampson v Anthony "The Limo" Sullivan

Both of these contenders were the most impressive in training, both showed extraordinary ring craft but unfortunately the fight was stopped through injury to Steve Hampson's hands. Both Fighters are begging for a re match.

Karl "The Banker" Kirkpatrick v Jason "Dynamite" Donohue

The Banker was phenomonal in defeat. His determination throughout sparring was incredible, three weeks ago Bill Quinn broke Karl's ribs in sparring but in true "Prekky" style he would not give in.

Jason caught Karl early on with a shot flush on the Temple, all the crowd thought Karl would not last but again he showed what resilience he has and pushed Jason all the way with his long jab.

Jason won in the end quite comfortably.

Neil "The Predator" Prescott v Chris "Smokin" Smith

This fight would have graced Rocky 7. Right from the bell they smashed each around the canvass. Neil caught Smokin with a right hook, the crowd went silent for a split second and Smokin sent out a haymaker to send the Predator to the floor, unbelievable scenes. To Neil's credit he picked himself up and probably asserted himself on top for the rest of the fight but the knock down proved decisive and Steve Collins gave the decision to Smokin Smith.

Master Maea David v Esene The Original Hitman Faimalo

The clash of the Heavyweights. In the first 2 rounds they both shown each other so much respect, it was a cagey battle, one for the Boxing purists. In the Third Round they opened up but the Draw was the only option.

Brad "The Body" Hepi v Bill "Mighty" Quinn

The Brawler v The Classic Boxer, Brad as expected came out like a man possessed, a whirlwind of punches were thrown he had the Oldham Chairman tied on the ropes but the experience of the Mighty Quinn knew he had to weather the Storm. Gradually as the fight wore on bill picked his punches and consistently found the right shot. Maybe the best fight of the night?

Garry "The Scorpion" Schofield v Alan "The Assassin" Hunte

Another great fight that could have gone anyway. The Assassin controlled the outside of the ring, dancing like his hero "Ali" in the first round but "The Scorpion" was stung into action and his work on the inside completed a tremendous victory.
How the Ropes never snapped when Garry celebrated his victory i do not know.
Garry as always the Entertainer.

Onto the Last

Warren "The Warrior" Jowitt v Tim "Qualiteh" Street

These two had the reputation as being "hotheads" when on the pitch. When they were in the ring we expected no different.
Warren with his preparation for the fight disturbed with his appointment as Dewsbury coach found that Tim's dedication to training proved the difference, Tim who was like a raging bull when he started sparring controlled himself during the fight and produced a skillful class of boxing to win the bout. Both men could have made it in the ring.

Onto the Exhibition

This was extremely Entertaining with Hull Legend Andrew Wolfie Pahlen taking on Herol Bomber Graham as expected the Bomber proved very illusive but i think Wolfie did catch with one punch, Herol definitely caught Wolfie with a low blow to the solar plexus.
The Steve Prescott Foundation Committee cannot thank Wolfie enough for his efforts leading up to this event and all of his supporters.

The man himself then enterered the Ring Steve Prescott as a late replacement for Robbie Paul, The House Erupted, I cried. Another example to every Cancer sufferer out there that just because you have been diagnosed with this terrible disease you have to carry on and keep fighting. Steve did manage to catch the Boxing Legend with a few shots and in the third round both Wolfie and Prekkie teamed up to take on Bomber, this resulted at one stage with all three on the floor.

A Fantastic Night, which has to have a Return, The Wakefield Wildcats Dolls added the glamour to the occasion, they along with the boxers left the crowd speechless.
